Regular faculty positions in the mathematics group carry the designations: Fellow, Reader, Professor. The pay scales (7th pay commission) and typical minimum qualifications for these positions are as follows:
Fellow E - Pay Level 12 (minimum requirement: PhD)
Reader F - Pay Level 13 (PhD + 5 years experience)
Professor G - Pay level 13A (PhD + 10 years experience)
Professor H - Pay level - 14 (PhD + 15 years experience)
Unlike the higher positions, the entry level "Fellow E" position carries no minimum requirement of post-Ph.D work experience. Outstanding candidates who have established themselves in a short time after their PhD are therefore eligible.
