    The students' mess - run by the members themselves. There is a kitchen with dining hall and store rooms. All Institute members can partake their meals in the mess but those who opt not to take mess-managership have to pay slightly higher rates. The meals are mostly vegetarian with an extra non-vegetarian dish for dinner typically three to four times a week. The Institute provides cooks and helpers, utensils and other utilities and reimburses the fuel (LPG) bill. The cooking facility can be used by research scholars but no individual storage space is available. There is also a Guest-House canteen which has fixed meal rates and is run by the Institute employees.
