
We at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc, Chennai, INDIA), an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), have been celebrating our 60th foundation year in 2022-2023. As part of a year-long celebration, we have had a confluence of great scientists speaking on cutting-edge research in basic sciences encompassing mathematics, theoretical physics, theoretical computer science and computational biology.
The Institute of Mathematical Sciences is a premier research institute in Chennai, INDIA founded by Alladi Ramakrishnan in 1962. Since its inception, members of the institute have engaged in research in fundamental and interdisciplinary sciences, have made significant scientific contributions to the country, and are committed to popularizing Science. The institute has several alumni who are notable scientists in India and around the world.
As we complete 60 years, the IMSc60 celebration is planned to celebrate all areas of science and bring together the scientific community encompassing scientists, nation-builders, policy-makers and research scholars not only to honour and recognize remarkable scientific contributions from the past but also to strengthen India's scientific vision for the next decade and help India lead the global research landscape.
