In
December 1910, Ramanujan went to Thirukkoilur, to meet the Collector
at Nellore, Dewan Bahadur Ramachandra Rao, accompanied by his
friend and admirer R. Krishna Rao, a nephew of Ramachandra Rao.
It
was only when Ramanujan showed the letter he received from Prof.
Saldanha (at Bombay) that Ramachandra Rao started to feel that
Ramanujan’s work was befitting the class of eminent Mathematicians.
