During 1906-1912 Ramanujan was constantly in search of a benefactor.
Unfortunately he did not have any one to direct him in his Mathematical
researches. Ramanujan continued noting down his results in his
Notebooks, despite the pecuniary
circumstances and the stresses and strains of day-to-day existence.

Chapter 1 on Magic Squares, results on Sums
of Series, Combinational Analysis, Polynomials, Numbers, Analogues
of Gamma Functions, Continued Fractions, etc. continued
to flow.
