In July 1909, Ramanujan was married to Janaki.
It was an elaborate five-day, double wedding ceremony at Rajendram,
where Janaki’s elder sister Vijayalakshmi’s marriage
also took place. Ramanujan’s father was not present at that
time. The strong will of Komalathammal was solely responsible
for this major event in Ramanujan’s life.
