Halt at Suez.
Letter to R. Krishna Rao
|
Ramanujan’s
two letters to Krishna Rao, nephew of Ramachandra Rao, reveal
that he was sea-sick for three days initially but for the rest,
he enjoyed the voyage with halts at Colombo, (port Said), Suez
and Genoa. The ship sailed through the Mediterranean, through
the Strait of Gibraltar and Bay of Biscay, and reached through
the English Channel, London docks on April 14, 1914.
