An Evening of Stargazing
TASS invites IMSc members to an evening of stargazing and astronomical wonder as seven planets align in a rare • celestial event. This exceptional planetary alignment will be visible till 28 Feb 2025. This will not occur again till 2040!
Note: Planetary alignment doesn't mean all planets line up in a perfectly straight line; instead, they appear in the same general region when viewed from Earth. There will also be a brief introduction to the planetary alignment and its significance by Dr. Joseph Prabhakar Sc. Dr. Ravikumar.
Best time to observe: Just after sunset. Venus and Jupiter will be the brightest and easiest to spot. Telescopes will be available for a closer view of the planets.
