IMSc Climate Change Series
It is now scientifically established that the warming is due to increased human Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) emissions, primarily carbon dioxide, since the Industrial age (1850-1900). The warming has and will result in significant climate change. The effects have been and will be felt all over the world but they are not the same everywhere. This poster series is about scientific results highlighting few of the effects of climate change in South Asia.
Poster Exhibition
The posters were displayed at Science at the Sabha 2024 in the Anna Centenary Auditorium on 18 February 2024. Currently they are at the IMSc Library. (19 Feb - 31 Mar) Interested people can visit the library during working hours. We are also planning to exhibit them at other places in future.

Abstract |
Climate change is a global collective action problem that no country can solve on its own. Nevertheless, there is much confusion over the content and value of the UN climate negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), especially the annual Conference of Parties (COP) of the UNFCCC. The talk introduces the UNFCCC process briefly, illustrating the role of the COPs and discusses the processes and outcomes of what happened at COP28 at Dubai, in December, 2023. |
