In this talk I will discuss our work on how we use physical principles to understand organization of DNA into chromatin and accessibility of various chromatin states. First I will discuss some physical principles behind nucleosome organization along DNA and how this might affect gene regulation in certain cases. Then I will discuss how nucleosome organization would affect higher order organization of chromatin.
