Parthasarathi
Temple, Triplicane, Chennai

At school, when other children made fun of Ramanujan, he would
threaten to fall on them and crush them to the ground. He was
a regular temple goer, especially at the time of the distribution
of eatables (prasâdam: eatables offered to Gods).
Though his father was an appraiser of cloth, as well as a salesman
and an accountant to the cloth merchant and worked from dawn-to-dusk,
he had a meager salary of Rs.20/- per month. To augment this income,
Komalathammal had two students, from Tiruchi and Tirunelveli,
boarding and lodging in Ramanujan’s small street house.
