Ramanujan Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics

 

 

 

The Ramanujan Mathematical Institute was founded by the philonthropist Sir Alagappa Chettiar, in 1951, with Dr. T. Vijayaraghavan ( one of the talented students of Prof. G.H. Hardy) as its first Director. In 1955, Dr. C.T. Rajagopal ( a student of Prof. Ananda Rao), took over the Directorship.
