The university offers 76 master's and 61 doctoral degree programs in eight academic colleges. Virginia Tech is classified as a Research I institution, the top category for major U.S. research institutions. At Virginia Tech, graduate students are an important and valued part of the academic community. Our international students are a significant part of the student body, making up approximately 25% of the graduate student population each year. As an international student, you are eligible for financial assistance from the university. Each year approximately 30% of our international students receive some form of financial support.
