Before travelling If you are not a citizen of India you will require a valid visa to enter India. Please read the following carefully. If you have any questions please write to us at the conference email address. We will be happy to provide whatever assistance we can. VISA Citizens of all countries require a visa to enter India. This is a reciprocal arrangement, and Indian citizens too need a visa to visit every other country. The visa fees are also determined reciprocally between India and each country, hence they will depend on your country of citizenship (defined by your passport) rather than your country of residence. To obtain your visa, please contact the Indian Embassy/Consulate nearest you. There is typically an Indian Embassy in every capital city, and in some countries there may be additional Consulates in other cities. To check up whether the nearest Indian Embassy or Consulate has a website, you can consult, for example: Embassy of India December is peak season for air-travel into India. So it is advisable to make your travel arrangements well in advance of your scheduled travel. Reaching Puri The meeting will take place in Puri ( Odisha ). It is well connected by air, rail and road to various towns and cities in India. The nearest airport is at Bhubaneswar, 60 Km away from Puri. There are regular flights connecting Bhubaneswar and major cities of India. People from outside India can arrive at Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai or any other international airport, and take a connecting flight to Bhubaneswar. Once you reach the Bhubaneswar airport, organisers will arrange for your transportation from Bhubaneswar to Puri. Indian Railways connects Puri by train with many towns and cities of India. Puri is connected to Bhubaneswar by a state highway as well. It is about 60Km from Bhubaneswar. Bhubaneswar is on the national highway NH5 (Kolkata-Chennai). In Puri All the participants will be provided accommodation in the Blue Lily Beach Resort . The hotel rooms are booked from the evening of 14th to the morning of 21st December and on double occupancy (two participants sharing a room). if you need to stay for longer you may contact the hotel directly (if it is only a little longer stay and for travel logistics then please contact us at the earliest). The academic programme of the conference starts in the morning of the 15th December and the conference ends in the evening of the 20th December. There will be half a day of free time on the 17th December. We are working on a pleasure trip to some tourist attractions in and around Puri for that afternoon for those interested to join it. December is supposed to be winter time in Puri - with temperatures ranging between 15 and 30 (degree Centigrade) with bright sunshine and very little rain fall. This makes it the most pleasant time of the year for visitors to Puri.
