Nature Diary Tabebuia rosea, Trumpet tree This tree is native to Central America and was brought to India by the British. It grows well in cities and in limited spaces. It is common across India, flowering during Jan-Mar, with both pink and yellow flowering varieties. There are concerns that it may deplete the groundwater, but it makes for a spectacular show such as in Bangalore (see picture) which is carpeted with these flowers during the season.
