cross word did not match with the grid shown. We apologise for the mix
up. This time, we run the same grid, but with the correct clues. There
are, therefore, no answers to the cross word of the last issue. --Editors.

Hints to solve a cryptic cross word:

Since there are no solutions to last issue's cross word to serve as a guideline, here are some hints on solving cryptic cross words.
Hint 1: Many words are anagrams of words contained in the clues. For example,
Clue  : A meandering lane could become thin. (4)
Answer: Lean
Logic : "Lean" is an anagram of "lane" which means "thin".
Hint 2: Many words are part of the clue. For example,
Clue  : Seeing a pigs dwelling before the begining of the evening results in an eye infection. (4)
Answer: Stye
Logic : The beginning of the evening is "e". "Sty" is "a pig's dwelling".  A pig's dwelling before before "the begining of evening" makes "stye" which is "an eye infection".
