dc.description.abstract These notes are based on lectures given by the author to the mathematics teachers of Madras University, in connection with the prescribed syllabus for M.Sc., in respect of tensors and relativity. The concepts involving vectors and tensors are common to three prescribed courses, viz., Modern Algebra, Mechanics and Relativity. There is a wide gap in the approach to the concepts of vectors and tensors between different recommended text books. This report makes an attempt to bridge the gap. The objective of the report is merely to expose the reader to the modern terminology, so that one can have a more clearer unified picture of various concepts that arise in the discussion of the subject Tensor Analysis. en_US
