dc.description.abstract This report consists of the materials that is presented in a course of lectures on advanced topics in the theory of gravitation, at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Madras, during the year 1971. The prerequisites for following this course have been covered in an earlier Report on the basic course given by the same author (Mat. Report 71). Most of the Material in this report are based on the original research papers by pioneers working in the fields of gravitational collapse and gravitational radiation. The gravitational Implosion problem is studied through various solutions. While studying gravitational Radiation, first established the nature of radiation as being Quadrapole. Some exact solutions representing gravitational radiation fields are presented, after going through in detail the classification of Fields. The present report would serve only as a basic study in understanding the advanced topics in Gravitational collapse and gravitational Radiations. en_US
