Some Arithmetic and Analytic aspects of L-functions
Rashi Lunia
IMSc
The behaviour of values of $L$-functions at
"special points" has been an object of interest to number
theorists for over two centuries.
In this talk, we wish to touch upon some analytic and arithmetic
results related to values of certain families of
$L$-functions at points in the critical strip.
More precisely, in the first part of the talk, we will discuss the extreme values
of Dirichlet $L$-functions and $L$-functions attached to modular forms.
In the second part, we shall discuss the transcendental nature of values of certain families of $L$-functions.
This is a pre synopsis talk.
