Quasi-isometries of $\mathbb Z^n$ anTwisted Conjugacy in Certain Linear Groups

Oorna Mitra

IMSc

Given an automorphism ${\phi : \Gamma \to \Gamma}$, one has the ${\phi}$-twisted conjugacy action of ${\Gamma}$ on itself, given by ${g.x = gx\phi(g^{-1}).}$
The orbits of this action are called the ${\phi}$-twisted conjugacy classes. The first part of the talk will be about twisted conjugacy in general and special linear groups over $F[t]$ and $F[t,t^{-1}]$ where $F$ is any subfield of algebraic closure of $\mathbb{F}_p$.

In the second part of the talk, some results concerning quasi-isometry group of $\mathbb{Z}^n$ will be stated and it will be shown that the group is `large'.
