Quantum simulation of energy transport in open systems

In this talk, I will first introduce Environment Assisted Quantum Transport (ENAQT) and its role in energy transport in open quantum systems. Then, I will describe a discrete time evolution model for ENAQT and simulate the photosynthetic Fenna-Mathews-Olson (FMO) complex using the model. I will outline a digital quantum simulation framework for the FMO complex, which achieves a reduction in number of qubits from O(n) to O(log n) for implementation. Finally, I will outline potential applications of this work and directions for further study.
