Haagerup Property for Discrete Groups

This talk will be on the Haagerup Property for discrete groups,an approximation property first studied by U. Haagerup in his seminal 1978 paper,which is a generalisation of the notion of amenability.We will study some equivalent definitions and sketch the proof of the fact that the free groups possess the Haagerup Property.If time permits,we will touch upon other approximation properties and rigidity properties e.g. Weak Amenability and Property T.
