Zeta functions associated to infintie extensions

Anup Dixit

IMSc

In this talk, we will discuss various Zeta functions associated to infinite extensions of a number field. Such a function was first considered by Serre. Building on this, related zeta-functions were considered by Kumar Murty and Tsfasman-Vladut. We will discuss some basic properties and conjectures for these zeta functions and also introduce a new zeta function on infinite extensions, which holds vital algebraic information.
