Construction of symplectic cobordisms

Aim of this talk is to discuss the question of existence of symplectic structures on cobordisms. We start with cobordisms which have handle-decomposition consisting of handles with index no more than half of the dimension. After this we describe a recent result of Eliashberg and Murphy which allows construction of the symplectic structure with an overtwisted concave end, even in presence of handles of higher indices. We also discuss some interesting consequences of this result. If time permits we provide an outline the proof.
