Ramanujan Graphs and the Kadison-Singer Problem

We will give a short survey on the recent work of Marcus, Spielman and Srivastava that led to the solution of the Kadison-Singer Problem and the existence of infinite families of Ramanujan graphs of every degree. The talk will be accessible to a wide audience.
