Jones basic construction

The Jones basic construction was introduced by Vaughan F.R. Jones in 1983 in the theory of von Neumann algebras. When translated to the context of finite dimensional split semisimple algebras over a field, it was a fundamental ingredient in analyzing the generic structure of certain class of diagram algebras arising from classical Schur-Weyl duality. In this talk, I will explain Jones basic construction for Temperley-Lieb algebras, Brauer algebras and partition algebras.
