Radiative Corrections and Resummation Effects to Higgs Physics in QCD

Ajjath A H

IMSc, Chennai

Precise theoretical predictions from Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and Quantum Electrodynamics (QED)
are of paramount importance for a better understanding of the physics at Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
In this talk, I will discuss certain state of the art computations within the Standard Model for
the production cross sections for Higgs boson and for Drell-Yan di-lepton pairs.
These computations are performed by employing the methods of perturbative QCD/ mixed QCD-QED, which
involve partly the fixed order perturbative calculations and partly resummation techniques which
encompass corrections to all orders. These corrections improve the reliability of theoretical
predictions, and hence are of tremendous value both theoretically and phenomenologically.
