Counting Simultaneous Similarity Classes of Commuting Matrix Tuples

I will be counting the number of simultaneous similarity classes of n-tuples of 4 x 4 matrices over a finite field. Given a similarity class type of an n-1 - tuple of commuting matrices say T = (a1,...an-1), I will find out the number of similarity classes of n-tuples, (a1,..an-1, a), of commuting matrices. This will lead to a listing of branching rules.
