ON THE NORMAL NUMBER OF PRIME FACTORS OF SUMS OF FOURIER COEFFICIENTS OF EIGENFORMS

In 1984, Kumar Murty and I studied the normal number of
prime factors of Fourier coefficients of modular forms. In
recent joint work with Kumar Murty and Sudhir Pujahari, we study
the normal number of prime factors of sums of Fourier coefficients
of Hecke eigenforms using recent advances in the theory of l-adic
Galois representations.
