Torus homotopy groups

Peter Wong

Bates College, Lewiston, USA

In 1945, R. Fox introduced the so-called torus homotopy groups in
which the Whitehead products become commutators. In this talk, I will
revisit Fox's construction, give generalizations as well as applications. In
particular, we the counting argument of Fox to investigate the group
structure of $[\Omega S^2, \Omega S^2]$.
