Scattering theory on symmetric spaces

In this talk, we will addresss some questions concerning scattering theory on Riemannian symmetric spaces of non-compact type, in the context of harmonic analysis on such spaces. We'll then discuss a very recent result (joint with Joachim Hilgert and Soenke Hansen) relating resolvent poles and scattering poles in the rank one case, and remark on the higher-rank situation as well the relation to Lax-Phillips scattering theory
