Effective model study of QCD thermodynamics and transport coefficients.

Pracheta Singha

Bose Institute

I will discuss thermodynamic and transport properties of the medium formed in heavy-ion collision experiments using Polyakov extended chiral effective models. These models incorporate the gluonic contribution only through a background Polyakov field neglecting any dynamical information for the gluonic degrees of freedom. I will revisit a quasi-gluon model and discuss SU(3) pure gauge thermodynamics within that model framework using a beyond mean-field approach. Finally, a quasi-particle model will be obtained by coupling this quasi-gluon model to the 2 flavour NJL model and the thermodynamic properties of the QCD medium will be reproduced.
