Demystifying compressed top squark region with kinematic variables

Compressed mass spectrums can be the natural explanation and open window for low mass exotic particles, whereas LHC already pushed the overall mass scale pretty high. They are still open owing to the difficulty in probing such spectrum. To investigate the usefulness of kinematic variables sensitive to the compressed mass region, we consider well motivated phenomenological supersymmetry scenario where the top squark undergoes a four-body decay. We propose a search strategy observing that it is indeed possible to regulate the enormous tt̄ background and in turn improve the present experimental limit with 13 TeV data.
