The Black Hole Interior and the Information Paradox in Holography

The principle of holography provides us with well defined models of quantum gravity. These models of gravity contain black holes, but we do not yet have a complete holographic description of the interior of these black holes. In fact the question of how to describe the interior in holography can be thought of as a version of the famous black-hole information paradox. I will describe some recent developments on this front, and also describe how they provide us with hints of surprising new physical effects in quantum gravity.
