Entanglement in Gauge Theories

Ronak M Soni

TIFR, Mumbai

Because all the degrees of freedom in a gauge theory are non-local, the idea of entanglement entropy between spatial regions is not a well-defined one. We propose a definition on the lattice anyway, and show that only a part of it is true entanglement. We'll also comment on the continuum limit of this definition, and calculate it in a few simple cases.
