Network approach to gaining biological insights, its promise and challenges using proteasomal chaperones as a case study

Integrated analysis of highthroughput data is expected to overcome many of the limitations seen with hypothesis based focussed investigations. Constructing networks, application of mathematical approaches and simulations are some of the means by which the data generated in specific labs are interrogated and analysed. Input from patient derived data is expected to bridge the gaps between ex vivo based studies and the ‘real life’ situation. We will see how some elements of these have helped us in betting on the functions of the proteasomal assembly chaperones, opening up the gateway to great promises riddled with challenges.
