Integer Quantum Hall Effect of Bosons on a Lattice.

Recent research has revealed the crucial role of quantum entanglement and symmetries in determining the nature of many-body quantum ground states beyond spontaneously broken symmetries. In this talk, I hope to give a general outline of this exciting development and provide a concrete realization of such a phase -- the lattice realization of integer quantum Hall phase in bosons. Interestingly, unlike fermions, interactions form a crucial ingredient in stabilizing such a phase.
