The Large, the Small, and the Extremes

In this talk, I will review our current understanding of the universe at short
and large distances which are packaged elegantly in the Standard Model of Particle Physics and the Standard Model of Cosmology (extended by Cosmic Inflation) respectively. I will emphasize that a good understanding of the
latter requires knowledge of the former and some tools used therein.
