New Notions of Non-classicality in Communication Networks

Quantum communication is a central element in quantum information processing. Shannon’s celebrated model of communication asserts a setup in which the sender is given some classical input which they encode in some physical (message) system and send it through a pre-defined and possibly noisy transmission line. On receiving the system the receiver tries to decode the classical information by performing decoding operations on it. This setup could be non-classical in two possible sense: allowing the path of the message system to be indefinite (not pre-defined) or/and the message system itself could be a non-classical system. In this talk I will focus on few of my recent works which explore new notions of non-classicality (beyond known notions, viz. non-locality and contextuality) in both of the aforementioned cases. Finally I will briefly mention my future research plan.
