The Multiset Partition Algebra

We introduce and study a new diagram algebra called the multiset partition algebra. It generalizes the partition algebra of Jones and Martin. It is the centralizer of the symmetric group in a space of symmetric tensors. We prove that this algebra is cellular and determine conditions for its semisimplicity. This is based on joint work with Shraddha Srivastava and Sridhar P Narayanan.
