Basics of toric varieties

We will revisit the definitions and basic
properties of toric varieties, torus invariant divisors,
associated polytopes and piecewise linear functions and
some known results for multiplicity and singularities of
toric varieties. If time permits, we will discuss Hilbert-Kunz
density functions and related theory on projective toric
varieties. This is joint work with Prof. V. Trivedi.
