Chern-Simons matter theories

Pure Chern-Simons theory is topological and has no propagating degrees of freedom. When coupled to matter these theories become interesting since the quanta contains anyons that give rise to the Aharonov-Bohm effect. Non-Abelian U(N) Chern-Simons theories coupled to fundamental matter have interesting structure. Rigorous computations have established that Chern-Simons theories coupled to fundamental bosons are dual to Chern-Simons theories coupled to fundamental fermions under a duality map. We review the 2+1 d bosonization duality and some of its tests . We will also review non-relativistic Aharanov-Bohm scattering.
