The challenges of Yang-Mills theory
Antonio Gonzalez-Arroyo
IFT-UA Madrid
Yang-Mills quantum field theory lies at the heart of the
strong interactions of Nature. Despite its simple
formulation the theory possesses marvelous properties. Some give rise to
both mathematical and physical difficult problems. We will clarify
what is understood and what is not in some of these properties like
Confinement. The limit of the theory with infinite number of colours
might provide a key to solving these challenges. Progress in this area
will be reviewed.
