Quantum spacetime from quantum entanglement

Roji Pius

Theoretical physics attempts to explain wide range of physical phenomena using a minimal set of fundamental laws. Often it goes way beyond and lead us to unexpected discoveries. The deep connection between the quantum geometry of spacetime and the quantum entanglement is a prime example for such a discovery. In this talk after a brief discussion of some recent progresses in string theory, a framework that describe the quantum geometry of spacetime, I will explain how string theory uncovered the idea of emergence of spacetime from quantum entanglement and mention some of the possible future directions in the light of the recent progresses in string theory.
