Statistics of cosmic random fields
Spyros Sypsas
CU, Bangkok
The cosmic microwave background is the most accurate black body spectrum ever observed with a characteristic temperature of 2.7K and small (10^-5K) inhomogeneities. The statistics of these tiny temperature fluctuations carries crucial information about the origin of this black body spectrum. We will discuss how we can decode this information and how it connects to several problems in cosmology, quantum field theory and high energy physics.
