Relating maximal conformal supergravities in 6d and 4d

In this talk we will relate the maximal (2,0) conformal supergravity in 6d and N=4 conformal supergravity in 4d via dimensional reduction along a torus. We will see that the (2,0) Weyl multiplet in 6d reduces to a different variant of N=4 Weyl multiplet which is the dilaton Weyl multiplet. We would also see the geometric origin of various features of N=4 supergravity in 4d which might seem to be a bit ad hoc from the 4d perspective. We will end with some interesting future directions to pursue.
