Loop Quantum Stars : Modifying stars using equations of Loop Quantum Cosmology

Stars develop singularities if they become massive. For illustration:
Take a static spherically symmetric star of constant density. Its
central pressure becomes infinite if its mass is increased to a
certain value. Can such singularities be resolved? If so, how?

An analogy can be made with the big bang singularity in cosmology.
There, Loop Quantum Cosmology quantises gravity and resolves the
singularity.

For stars, we rewrite the equations so that they resemble cosmology
equations. They can then be `quantum modified'. The resulting stars
will be non singular. An `image star' appears now beyond the central
region of maximal pressures in the original star. This is evocative of
a bouncing universe in Loop Quantum Cosmology.

(Regrouping certain terms in the equations from the curvature sector
into the matter sector was important in arriving at the
modifications.)
