z-classes and rational conjugacy classes of alternating groups

Two elements are said to be in the same z-class if their
centralizers are conjugate in the group. In this talk, we discuss z-classes for Symmetric groups and Alternating groups. We also discuss the connection
between z-classes and rational conjugacy classes for Alternating Groups.
