Using bispectral analysis to study quasi-periodic oscillations

Quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) are features that appear as narrow peaks in the power spectrum of X-ray binaries. While QPOs have been observed in many sources, the manner in which they are produced is under debate. In this talk, I will describe how the bispectrum, a higher order time series analysis technique, can be used to determine a variety of new properties of these oscillations.
