On vanishing of periodic Dirichlet series at positive integers.

In this talk, we shall survey on the questions concerning the non-vanishing of the Dirichlet series associated to rational values periodic arithmetic functions evaluated at positive integers, and mention some new results ( joint work with Siddhi Pathak ). If time permits, we shall also describe a new necessary and sufficient criterion for the vanishing of L(1,f) for rational valued periodic functions f. This is a work in progress.
